At UGIP Foundation, we believe that education is the bedrock for the development of young Africans. Our education pillar focuses on providing access to quality learning resources, scholarships, and training opportunities for underprivileged young people. Through initiatives like the Train Them Young Initiative (#2TYI), we equip children with life-saving knowledge and help them gain the skills needed to thrive in their future careers.
Programs
- Train Them Young Initiative (#2TYI): A program aimed at injury prevention and knowledge empowerment for children in low-income communities.
- Lady Ijeoma Mary Obidiegwu Memorial Scholarship (I-MOMS) Program: We offer scholarships to deserving students from under-resourced backgrounds, enabling them to pursue their academic dreams and contribute meaningfully to society.
Impact
- The Train Them Young Initiative (#2TYI) has served children in several summer camps and low income communities.
- In our research project, injury prevention knowledge improved significantly, with post-intervention results showing a 76.5% knowledge retention rate.
Next Steps
- Scaling the Train Them Young Initiative to more states in Nigeria.
